Terms of Service

GatherFin connects indie builders with buyers who want to back new products. Buyers signal a monthly budget, pledge a one-time first purchase of a product, and pay the builder directly. We review the purchase receipt and, if it checks out, record a verified first customer.

GatherFin is a matching and verification service. We never process, hold, or route purchase money.

You must be at least 18 to use GatherFin. Keep your login credentials safe and the information on your account accurate — you are responsible for what happens under your account.

When a buyer purchases a product, that transaction happens directly between the buyer and the builder, off our platform. GatherFin is not a party to it. The builder is solely responsible for the product, its delivery, and any refunds; pricing, payment method, and terms of the sale are between the two of you.

A buyer’s monthly budget is a signal of intent, not a balance — we never charge it.

Verification depends on honest receipts. Uploading a fake, altered, or recycled receipt — or colluding to manufacture a “first customer” — gets a commitment rejected and may get your account removed. We make reasonable efforts to review receipts but can’t guarantee every verified commitment reflects a genuine sale.

Don’t use GatherFin to do anything illegal, list products you don’t have the right to sell, mislead buyers or builders, spam, scrape, or interfere with the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

You own what you post — product listings, descriptions, logos, receipts. You give us a license to host and display that content as needed to run the service. Don’t post content you don’t have the rights to.

You can stop using GatherFin and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

GatherFin is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that builders will find customers, that products will work as described, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GatherFin LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between buyers and builders. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and make the new terms available here. Continuing to use GatherFin after a change means you accept it.
